The Word Wall
Horizon Hall was conceived as a crossroads where faculty and students in many disciplines can meet and exchange ideas. This concept is also embodied in the Word Wall that greets visitors in the atrium. On the ground floor of the building, adjacent to the MIX’s maker spaces, a three-story dynamic digital wall displays a randomly selected series of quotations, juxtaposed in an endless conversation of ideas.
These quotes, contributed by the Mason community, appear in unexpected combinations which invite us to explore new contexts and meaning, and bring together knowledge to intersect, interact, encounter, and enlighten.
Please consider contributing to this ever-changing crossroads of ideas by submitting excerpts from your own lodestar texts.
Thank you to those who served on the working group which reviewed and refined the Word Wall concept in Spring of 2019:
